Thank you for your interest in Cane Ridge Community Club. We have been a location for service hours since 2017. Our facility is located at 6043 Cane Ridge Road, Antioch, TN 37013. The structure has existed since the early 1900’s, when it served the community as a school using stoves for heat and outhouses for toilets. The building now serves the community as a place to host various functions and provide services for the community. It is used over 200 times per year for events ranging from Girl Scout meetings and developer meetings to family reunions and regular community meetings. The facility needs regular attention, which is where students have been a tremendous help. We do not have regular business hours. We are all volunteers with regular jobs, so we work to schedule hours that meet your needs.

You can come on almost any day or time to help maintain the community garden or flower beds. We provide the tools. There is a container garden on the site of an old playground which needs weeds and grass removed from the mulch and sometimes needs watering. There is also a flower bed on the front of the building which needs weeding until we can get it redesigned, and an Iris bed at the back of the building which needs grass and weeds removed. One of us will meet you the first time to show you around. Thereafter, you can come when it is convenient for you and document your time through pictures.
Wednesday, June 19, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
There is a community meeting with Developers, council members and community members on this date. We need help setting up chairs, getting people signed in, preparing name tags, getting dry erase boards ready, taking pics and posting to Facebook during the event, taking notes, and then putting chairs up.
Thursday, June 20, 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
There are two opportunities this date. First, we need assistance with some general spot cleaning and putting together a stainless steel rolling cabinet. We will provide the tools. For this, please arrive at 3:00 p.m.
Next, there is a community meeting with Developers, council members and community members on this date. We need help setting up chairs, getting people signed in, preparing name tags, getting dry erase boards ready, taking pics and posting to Facebook during the event, taking notes, and then putting chairs up. Please arrive at 5:00 p.m. for this.
You CAN do both events.
Monday, June 24, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
On this date, we are hoping to get some pictures cleaned and re-hung that were taken down for painting. We also have some items that need to be painted if the weather permits us to do this outside.
Sunday, June 30, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Today we will be preparing for the monthly meeting that occurs on Monday, July 1st. We will be arranging picnic tables, setting up a hand-washing station, getting firepits and firewood ready, preparing childrens’ games and more. If you are able to come and help this day, we hope you can join us the following day so you can enjoy the picnic and games and get your hours for the next semester partially out of the way.
Monday, July 1st, 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This is our regular monthly meeting date. On this date, we are having a picnic with barbecue, hot dogs, smores and more. We need help getting everything ready, helping with the childrens’ games, getting name tags, taking pictures and posting them to our Facebook page, getting people to sign in, maintaining the fire pits, helping older people to chairs, taking chairs in and out of the building, cleaning up, and more. You will be well fed!
Tuesday, July 16th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
We are partnering with local businesses on this date to host a senior safety event. We need help setting up tables and chairs, preparing barbecue meals and serving the seniors, getting people signed in, providing name tags, taking notes, taking pics and posting to Facebook, and cleaning back up. Plan to eat with us.
Sunday, August 4th, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We will prepare for the meeting on Monday, August 5th by setting up tables and chairs, decorating, getting plates etc ready, inventorying our supplies, and more. The setup will not take the entire time, so we will work on other things that may include the garden, organizing, spot cleaning, and more.
Monday, August 5th, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
This is our regularly scheduled monthly meeting. We need help getting food on the serving line, getting everyone greeted and signed in, providing name tags, taking pictures and posting them to the Facebook page, helping older persons take their plates to the tables, and doing cleanup and putting back all the tables and chairs at the end of the meeting. Come hungry!
Unscheduled projects on our wish list: Web site design assistance, research needed related to historical events and people in Cane Ridge, video interviews of persons with long term connections to Cane Ridge, and more. Reach out if you have something in mind you would like to do which may fit into our Community Club.
Students are encouraged to not wait late in the semester to do their service hours. Early notification helps us provide more opportunities. At the time you do your service hours with us, send an email to email@example.com with your name, school name and arrival time. A picture is helpful. Students are responsible for reporting their hours to Tennessee Achieves. We will then be notified of your submission.
