Have you noticed that we have a Community Garden? Metro Parks granted us permission to do some raised boxes where the playground had been. It had to be removed due to safety issues. If you would like to create a box, please let us know so we can get you on the schedule for weeding and watering. The boxes thus far have all been created from materials from local farms. There are tomatoes, peppers, onions, cantaloupe, squash, and more growing. We’ve had it checked on by Dan Harrell, from the UT Extension, and all looks well at this point. It is fun to watch things grow. Let us know if you want to be involved!
The community garden is in full bloom (metaphorically) with lots of tasty treats that have been planted. Everything from Tomatoes to Green Beans have been planted and are all growing strong.
